Big changes are coming to Strongpoint for Salesforce. Here’s what you need to do before they land.
Strongpoint for Salesforce v7.1: Get ready for our 2nd Generation package migration
Hi everyone,
We’re rolling out Strongpoint for Salesforce v7.1, and this one matters more than most. It’s the required foundation for our upcoming migration from a 1st Generation (1GP) managed package to a 2nd Generation (2GP) package.
Why we’re making this move
Salesforce recommends 2GP as the modern standard for managed packages. It gives you more reliable upgrades, better version control, and a smoother path for future releases. We’re making the switch to keep Strongpoint aligned with where Salesforce is headed, and to keep your org running on a more resilient foundation.
What you need to know
The 2GP migration itself is still a couple of months out, but v7.1 has to be in place first. Here’s the rollout:
- August 28: v7.1 goes live in Sandbox environments
- September 11: v7.1 goes live in Production
Why this update is important
Being on v7.1 isn’t optional if you want to move to 2GP with us. Orgs that haven’t upgraded by the time we begin the migration may run into compatibility issues or delays.
What to do next
- Watch for v7.1 in your Sandbox on August 28 and test as you normally would.
- Confirm the update looks good in your environment.
- Expect v7.1 in Production on September 11.
