Strongpoint for Salesforce moves to second-generation packaging (2GP)

We’re updating how Strongpoint for Salesforce is packaged and distributed. The package itself isn’t changing. What’s changing is the packaging format behind it, moving from first-generation (1GP) to second-generation (2GP) packaging, which is Salesforce’s current best practice for managed packages.

This is a technical migration, not a product change. You won’t notice any difference in functionality, configuration, or how you use Strongpoint day to day.

What’s changing

  • The package format is moving from 1GP to 2GP.
  • No functional changes, no configuration changes, and no action required on your end.
  • You’ll see your package listed as second-generation in your Salesforce org going forward.

Rollout timeline

  • Sandboxes: 9/25
  • Production: 10/2

What this means for the roadmap

This migration sets us up for what’s next. Moving to 2GP puts Strongpoint for Salesforce on Salesforce’s modern packaging standard, which opens the door to better capabilities and more flexibility in future releases. We have exciting things coming on the roadmap as a result, and we’ll share more as those take shape.
