Password Secure 26.9.100: PostgreSQL database support now available

We are happy to announce the availability of Password Secure 26.9.100.

This release adds PostgreSQL as a supported database backend for Netwrix Password Secure, giving self-hosted customers more flexibility in how they run their database infrastructure.

Highlights

PostgreSQL now supported as a database backend

Password Secure now supports PostgreSQL alongside MSSQL for standalone (single SQL Server) deployments. This lets organizations reuse existing PostgreSQL DBA expertise instead of needing MSSQL-specific skills, and moves the database layer away from a Microsoft-only stack for shops avoiding Windows-based infrastructure at the DB tier. It can also help reduce licensing costs tied to MSSQL.

Will there be a migration path from existing mssql deployment to postgresql?

Hello Björn,

Thanks for the question, and welcome to the Netwrix Community.

An automated migration from MSSQL to PostgreSQL is already implemented and available in the Password Secure Server Manager.

Best regards,
Florian
